The tech world rarely stands still. In a competitive landscape where user experience is the ultimate benchmark for success, constant evolution is essential. That’s especially true in fashion e-commerce, and’s mindset Sizebay adopted when we created Size & Fit, a solution that has redefined shoppers’ virtual fitting room experience.
Combining advanced algorithms, intuitive design, and an immersive visual layer, Size & Fit delivers accurate size recommendations while also allowing shoppers to identify with products—something that positively impacts key metrics such as conversion rate and average ticket.
Over the course of a decade of operation, Sizebay has improved Size & Fit with several features, the result of market analysis, customer feedback, and continuous testing. In the GIF below, you can see Size & Fit’s evolution.
3D Feel: visual representation within Size & Fit
One of the highlights of Size & Fit is 3D Feel, a visual feature that has brought one of the biggest transformations to the virtual fitting room: a more realistic body view.
Previously, the avatar generated in the fitting room offered up to 270 body variations. Today, there are 1,250 possible combinations, which represent consumer diversity much more accurately. In addition, 3D Feel has also introduced heat bands, which show areas where a garment’s fit is “ideal”, “slightly tight”, “slightly loose” or “wide” — giving shoppers a better idea of the fit beyond a simple size suggestion.
E-commerce stores can use this visual layer in conjunction with the traditional adjustment bar model or integrate it independently. It’s also saved for customers to use on other items.

General Personalization and Connection
Size & Fit delivers a more accurate, personalized sizing experience. After entering basic details like weight, height, and age, the algorithm uses BMI patterns to generate an idealized body shape, but it doesn’t stop there. Users can also redistribute their body mass to better match their real-life shape, and the tool cross-references this info with each store’s size chart.
This not only improves size recommendations but also helps users feel a stronger connection with the avatar they see. That’s exactly why a new feature was introduced: skin tone personalization.
With this update, users can adjust the avatar’s skin tone so it better reflects their individual traits. Just like body measurements, this customization is saved throughout the browsing experience—feeding into the recommendation engine for an even more hyperpersonalized journey.
Speaking of hyper-personalization: Fashion Hub
While Size & Fit focuses on delivering accurate size recommendations, Fashion Hub takes the experience further, sparking desire, making product discovery easier, and increasing time spent on e-commerce sites. It’s our ecosystem of solutions designed to inspire, engage, and convert. With a suite of smart, visual tools, Fashion Hub meets your customers during the exploration stage, when they’re still figuring out what they want to buy, and turns that curiosity into purchases.
Fashion Hint: The intelligent storefront that learns from customers

Fashion Hint acts like a personalized storefront that recommends pieces based on each user’s browsing behavior and preferences. Powered by artificial intelligence, it learns what customers like and suggests items that match their style to drive organic cross-sells and boost your store’s average order value.
Fashion Image Search: intelligent visual image search

With Fashion Image Search, users can upload a reference image or screenshot, such as an outfit seen on social media, and find similar products on e-commerce sites. The tool uses computer vision to identify patterns, colors, and silhouettes, connecting inspiration directly to purchases.
Fashion Looks: the personal stylist

Fashion Looks allows consumers to view suggestions for complete combinations based on the item they are looking at. In addition to making it easier to put together looks, the tool encourages the purchase of sets and accessories, working as a true virtual stylist.
Anyone who works in e-commerce already knows the number one rule of online stores: websites need to be fast and offer the best possible experience, with the fewest steps to complete a purchase.
The “one-click checkout” concept has been a constant goal for retail giants like Amazon and has also been adopted by platforms like Shopify, which has already implemented this feature in the North American market.
With this in mind, we have further improved Sizebay’s virtual fitting room with features aimed at streamlining the purchasing journey. The tool includes an “add to cart” button directly in the recommendation results and allows users to navigate between different images of a product within the fitting room itself.
These improvements significantly reduce the number of clicks needed to make a purchase decision, giving consumers access to more visual information about an item and add it to their cart quickly after receiving a size recommendation.
Online shopping has become much simpler and more efficient.
These tools have a clear objective: to boost sales for the more than 1,000 online stores that Sizebay serves.
